New Story Schools in Reading, PA (Perkiomen Avenue location) is seeking a Program Supervisor that will support the Director of School Services and the administrative team on clinical and educational components to ensure consistency while training and mentoring staff during the school day.
Job Responsibilities | What you'll be doing:
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of School Services and the administrative team on clinical and educational components within the school to ensure consistency between IEP and behavior plan goals.
  • Provides training and mentorship on implementation of appropriate behavior management strategies and educational practices to maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Provides primary "first line" supervision, leadership, guidance and mentorship to classroom support staff during the school day.
  • Provides program training and orientation to all new classroom support staff. Facilitate ongoing supervision and training to staff throughout the school year.
  • Assists in the coaching and supervision of staff, including compliance with all policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Manage classroom support staff daily staffing assignments.
  • Interview and adhere to company hiring guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage employee attendance and performance and adhere to disciplinary/termination guidelines and procedures.
  • Utilize non-violent crisis intervention techniques as needed.
Qualifications | What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Psychology, Education or a related field required
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working in a school or program for individuals with special needs to which they are assigned - 3 years minimum requirement
  • Management/Supervisory experience preferred - 1-year minimum requirement
