Position Summary:

The Residential Sales Consultant (RSC) is a critical role reporting directly to the Sales Manager. This role supports HomeServe’s goal to dramatically increase installation revenue growth (Heating, Cooling and Water Heaters) within the Energy Services business in Pennsylvania. This position will collaborate with the Marketing, Business Development, Service Delivery, and other organizations to develop and execute sales strategies that will result in increased market share for traditional heating and cooling installation volumes.

Essential Functions:

  • Actively participate in the Customer Care Loyalty Program on a daily basis, working with technicians in customers’ homes to identify equipment and comfort issues and proposing solutions to meet their comfort and budgetary needs.
  • Complete Home Health Report on all customer visits to record and identify current and future opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough and systematic lead follow-up with a superior-closing ratio. Track and monitor closing ratio. Follow procedures for Salesforce documentation and follow through, closing jobs within 30 days. Generally, no more than 30 leads should be open at one time. 
  • Develop individual lead generation plans and objectives.
  • Create a grass roots marketing plan and referral network in your community.
  • Visit every job site to determine the customer's specific needs and gain the opportunity to sell additional equipment and obtain new referrals. Provide choices to customer.
  • Ensure all required paperwork is submitted to the office so permits are obtained and verified. Pick up permit if required for the job.
  • Ensure that all required paperwork for financing and warranties is completed and submitted as required.
  • Assist and support all special sales events.
  • Actively participate in appropriate professional/ trade organizations.
  • Further acquire technical HVAC product and sales closing skills and techniques.
  • Solicit Service Agreements and maintenance and repair work to our customers.
  • Bid on fuel line work - gross margins must be achieved in order to earn commission.
  • Conduct detailed installation site surveys and gather all required material and measurements to include heat loss and heat gain calculations.
  • Provide a comprehensive estimate of both the product and installation costs.
  • Utilize ESS sales proposal software for standard jobs. For non-standard jobs, consult supervisor or area manager for proper pricing.
  • Submit all necessary paperwork in a timely manner to ensure that your equipment is ready for scheduled installation date.
  • Coordinate your new installation warranty, including site visits and customer education.
  • Utilize manufacturers and vendors to support complex installations.
  • Establish and coordinate your subcontractor installation activities, while maintaining a professional, business relationship.
  • Assure system documentation of all your jobs.
  • Attend all training sessions required by company.
  • Be responsible for the success and ultimately the profitability of both product sales and installation.
  • Visit or place follow-up call after every installation to confirm customer satisfaction and obtain new referrals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Our Residential Sales Consultants (RSCs) are highly ambitious, results-oriented, and self-motivated. Skilled in providing innovative, customer-related recommendations, We are developing practical proposals, handling negotiations, and closing sales. To accomplish this, a successful RSC must possess:

  • At least a high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior sales experience, with a preference for experience with direct selling to consumers.
  • Strong selling and business development skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate concepts effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused service.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to understand customer concerns and translate them into business solutions the business can offer.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate a positive attendance record.
  • Available to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Ability to meet physical demands - climb ladders and attic stairs, maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units for inspection and install requirements and measurements.
