Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church is Hiring an Office Manager Near Raytown, MO

Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church of Raytown, Missouri, seeks a qualified, kind, and friendly Office Manager to serve the mission and ministry of our congregation.

The Office Manager is the organizational and communication hub of the church. They work 22 hours a week, Monday through Thursday, and report directly to the Pastor with oversight from the Personnel Committee. The Office Manager will be paid $23,000 per year and is eligible for merit-based raises on a yearly basis.

The Office Manager has the following responsibilities:

Office Management

  • Be a welcoming presence to church members and visitors who come to the church.
  • Schedule, train and supervise office volunteers (from the congregation) who help answer phones and handle other basic office tasks.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of office supplies and ensure that office equipment (copiers, computers, etc.) are maintained.

Communications

  • Prepare the monthly church newsletter (the SteepleTalk) with contributions from staff, session committee moderators, the deacons, and other church members as appropriate.
  • Prepare and send out the weekly email.
  • Post updates to the church website and social media accounts.

AdministrativeDuties

  • Maintain and update the church calendars.
  • Maintain an updated church directory and membership records.
  • Prepare the packets for Session meetings and other clerical tasks as needed.
  • Prepare and schedule the weekly Welcome Narthex Screen slides.
  • Print and mail the weekly service to homebound church members.

Financial Duties

  • Pay monthly bills and process all vouchers.
  • Update necessary financial information into the Shelby accounting software and maintain and update checkbook.
  • Process monthly and quarterly tax summaries and payments. Process end of year tax statements under direction of Treasurer and with other support if needed.
  • Administer payroll using information provided by the Treasurer.
  • Maintain monthly and yearly financial reports.

Supervision

  • Direct supervision is the responsibility of the Pastor.
  • Evaluation of job performance is the shared responsibility of the Personnel Committee and the Pastor.

Leave Policy

  • Fridays Off
  • Paid Holidays — New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr Birthday, Monday after Easter, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the Friday after, and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it will be observed the following Monday.
  • Paid Vacation — eight (8) paid vacation days annually for the first two (2) years of service, twelve (12) days annually after two (2) years of service, and sixteen(16) annually after seven (7) years of service. New hires are eligible to take their vacation after the first six months of employment.
  • Sick days — five (5) sick days annually which may accrue up to sixty (60) days maximum. New hires are eligible for paid sick time after the first three months of employment days after six months of employment.
  • Personal days – two (2) personal days annually during the first two (2) years of service, three (3) personal days annually after two (2) years of service, and four (4) personal days after seven (7) years of service. New hires are eligible to take personal days after six months of employment.
  • No other benefits are associated with this position.
