Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, only if greater than 2 years of experience
Travelers must live 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility
Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
* *Patient Types: * *Psychiatric - Child/adolescents ages 5-17 & Adults* *Patient Ratios:*LPN: 1:8 with a tech
*Please make sure traveler understands they will work with peds
No dementia, severe autistic or forensic patients, no inmates
Diagnoses include, but are not limited to: Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Psychosis, Adjustment Disorder
No ECT
No forced medication
RN: 1:8 with a tech

LPN:BLS and CPI (preferred to have prior to start but can obtain on assignment)* *Skills required: * *LPN:* they need to be able to pass meds, evaluate care plans and note progress and documentation, admission screens (anything that says assessment on it an RN must do), minor wound care, EKGS (we train), glucometer, take telephone or verbal orders except restraints, acknowledge orders, vital signs, the Columbia suicide risk screen, end of shift report, log in patient belongings, screenings (except discharge planning – RN)* *Charting System/Equipment:
*Required Education:
Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
*Support on the Unit:
CNA (Ratio: 1:5-6 Psych techs not CNAs)
Charge nurse: one RN team- leader on day/eves per unit; working on getting CRN support overnight
Phlebotomy? Lab comes every day and draws our blood, we do stats
IV/VAT Team? No
Resource Nurse: We have 1 on nights , recruiting for a second one
RT: No
Hospitalist: No
EPIC – must request approval from CRT if they do not have EPIC experience
