Our Solar PV installers will travel daily throughout Vermont and neighboring New Hampshire towns to install solar photovoltaic equipment and battery backup to maximize our client’s energy savings. They may need to assemble solar modules or support structures to ensure the panels are safely secured. Panel installation can be on rooftops or ground mounted racking. Installers are expected to follow the lead crew member’s directions and inform of any potential obstacles that stand in the way of successful completion. Installers should be familiar with the site’s specific building codes, checking everything from the wiring of the home to the grounding to ensure there are no violations. We look to our Solar PV Installers to ensure that all solar power can be safely converted and used by the property owners. They are crucial to protecting our reputation and our clients’ well-being.

Responsibilities:

● Follow all safety protocols to ensure the health and wellbeing of our crew and customers.

● Check and double check that all required tools, parts and inventory are loaded on the truck before leaving the warehouse.

● Assemble and install panels, modules, and support structures in accordance with building codes.

● Apply weather sealing to building or support mechanisms.

● Check the integrity of wiring, grounding, and electrical terminations.

● Recommend proper installation of overcurrent, disconnect, surge suppression, and grounding equipment.

● Following PV Lead, install photovoltaic (PV) systems in accordance with codes and standards using drawings, schematics, and instructions.

● Install and configure internet-based PV monitoring systems.

● Ensure that trucks are cleaned of trash at the end of the day and that tools and materials are neatly organized.

Necessary Skills & Qualifications:

● Familiarity with safety procedures.

● Self-driven and proactive approach.

● Minimum of 1-year experience in construction industry; solar background a plus.

● General knowledge of electrical principles.

● Strong attention to detail.

● Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

● Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance.

● Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.

● Clean driving record and valid Driver’s license.

● Excellent communication skills and a team player.
