FPHNY Recruitment Team is Hiring a 10101 - Budget Analyst Near Queens, NY

Budget Analyst The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City. PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Bureau of Budget within Finance Division is responsible for the application, administration, management, and implementation of DOHMH's capital and expense budget. The Bureau oversees the grant application and budget administration process; works in conjunction with the city's Office of Management and Budget for new city funding for the agency's programs; manages and approves all agency expenditures; and projects agency's fiscal state and needs. POSITION OVERVIEWThe Bureau of Budget within the Division of Finance is seeking to hire a Temp Analyst to perform duties as a budget analyst. RESPONSIBILITIESAssist in maintaining the Division's Personnel Services and Other than Personnel Services budget.Assist in updating of internal budgeting systems and monitoring spending and update internal trackers.Review budgets and budget modifications submitted by programs and process mods in the city’s Financial Management System (FMS).Make recommendations to the program representatives for changes and corrections of errors.Review statistical budgetary data submitted by contract agencies.Review Journal Entries and Expense Adjustments submitted by programs and submits to processing unit.Assist in ad-hoc requests from programs and within finance division. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Previous experience with budgets and accounting Excel skills (v-look ups/ PIVOT table) Communication Skills, Analytical Skills, Attention to details LOCATIONGotham Center, 42-09 28th Street LIC, NY 11101 HOURS35 hours per week. This position will be funded through 12/31/2024 with possibility of extension. SALARY AND BENEFITS$37 per hour. Compensation for the position is hourly, with a rate commensurate with experience.
