Flagger Job Description:
Flaggers are crucial team members responsible for maintaining safety and traffic flow at our work sites.
This role requires a keen awareness of surroundings, a deep understanding of safety guidelines, and the
ability to interpret and implement Traffic Control Plans (TCP) specific to each work site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Traffic Control Operations:
Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic through or around work zones.
Operate basic traffic control equipment such as stop/slow paddles, warning signs, and
other signaling devices.
Demonstrate the ability to read and comprehend Traffic Control Plans (TCP).
Safely set up work zones according to the site-specific TCP, ensuring proper placement
of signs, cones, and other traffic control devices.
Effectively communicate with team members and other site personnel using standard
communication signals and procedures
2. Safety Awareness:
Maintain constant awareness and attentiveness to all surroundings.
Understand and adhere to all applicable safety guidelines, standards, and site-specific
rules and regulations.
Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, adjusting traffic control measures as
necessary to ensure the safety of all individuals on site.
Be responsible for always wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as specified for the task and work environment.
Requirements:
-Possess a strong understanding of traffic control operations and safety protocols.
-Ability to stand in all environments for extended periods of time.
-WA State Flagger Certified
-Ability to follow instruction on-site from internal lead and/or customer foreman.
-Punctual, Responsible, Self-Motivated
Note: Flaggers play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our work sites and the general public. PTC will provide initial Flaggers Certification courses.
