Farm Fresh Rhode Island is Hiring an Associate Director of Marketing Near Providence, RI

Position Summary

The Associate Director of Marketing will contribute to the planning, development and implementation of the organization’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities. This position will work collaboratively with Farm Fresh RI’s programs on creating vibrant and impactful graphic, print, and digital communications and leading consistency in the organization’s messaging and brand.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Marketing:

● With Director of Advancement, develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to meet organizational goals.

● Lead development of support materials, merchandising, advertising, and public relations activities.

● Develop marketing campaigns and associated collateral that raise awareness, promote the organization’s programs & Food Hub activities, raise funds, and increase sales.

● Collaborate with the Communications & Development team, Program Directors, and Hub event coordinator to create print materials, promotional items, signage, and event logistics.

● Develop and implement social media outreach, web content, and other digital strategies that engage the community and inspire support of FFRI’s work.

● Manage and ensure consistency across all social media accounts, email marketing, and websites.

● Monitor and analyze online performance metrics and engagement to inform decisions and activities.

● With C&D team, develop and implement strategy and guidelines for tone and style of all content to ensure consistency across all print and digital materials.

● Serve as internal webmaster, editing and updating the wordpress website, farmfreshri.org and be a liaison with outside technical consultants as needed.

Communication:

● Ensure consistent and clear articulation of the organization’s mission and work to expand organizational reach.

● Create copy and lead copy editing for all communications.

● Collaborate across departments and with external partners to develop compelling relevant content to engage key constituents.

● Write press releases and other content that supports the organization’s communication and marketing efforts.

● Establish relationships with external media and advertising contacts.

● Seek and manage media opportunities through being a consistent point of contact, providing information to media, and supporting FFRI staff in interviews.

Miscellaneous:

● As a collaborative member of the C&D team, actively engage in fundraising campaigns, in-person events, and donor engagement.

● Represent Farm Fresh RI at organizational events and programs and at external events, as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Organizational):

● Attend weekly team meetings and weekly supervisory check-in meetings.

● Attend Farm Fresh’s monthly staff meetings and other relevant staff meetings.

● Hold a strong commitment to participating in Farm Fresh RI’s Racial Equity process.

● Be able to build relationships with people from varied cultural, economic, educational, racial, and religious backgrounds.

● Maintain a gracious customer-service orientation while working with Farm Fresh’s participants, volunteers and funders.

● Demonstrate a broad knowledge of Farm Fresh Rhode Island’s programs, outcomes and impacts

● Must hold valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation

● Must be willing and able to work occasional evenings, nights and weekends

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed for This Position:

● Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related area, or demonstrated professional

experience in these fields.

● Previous experience managing and creating organizational content and messaging is required.

● Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Mailchimp, and Google Suite, Google

Analytics.

● Experience with Meta Business Suite, managing social media accounts and google paid ads.

● Strong technical and copy writing skills to both external and internal audiences, with

exceptional attention to detail.

● Self-starter and ability to maintain a self-motivating attitude.

● Passion for local food systems and social justice.

● Ability to juggle and track multiple tasks and responsibilities.

● Demonstrated commitment to the success of co-workers and Farm Fresh RI’s mission and values.

Physical Demands (Physical, Mental, and Environmental):

● Employees must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

● Ability to travel, which may include travel via car, train, airline, overnight hotel stays.

Salary and Benefits:

● Salary Range: $61,500 -$64,000
