Job Description:

We are seeking an Apprentice Toolmaker to assist in the design, build, and maintenance of precision tools, dies, and fixtures. The ideal candidate will have a baseline level of skill in manufacturing and machining, a strong willingness to learn, and a keen attention to detail. This is an excellent opportunity to receive hands-on training and develop a career in toolmaking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing and building precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures based on engineering drawings and specifications.
• Set up and operate basic machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM equipment under the guidance of experienced toolmakers.
• Learn to inspect and test completed tools and dies to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances.
• Help maintain and repair tools and dies to ensure production quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Some experience or coursework in manufacturing and machining.
• Basic knowledge of operating machine tools.
• Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Basic math skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or training in precision machining or a related field.
• Familiarity with EDM programming and operation.
• Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
