**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated Teacher's Aide to join our team and support our educational programs. The ideal candidate will assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students.
The Aide serves as primary helper to the Lead Teacher. This person will exhibit an ability to take direction, effective communication with children, parents, and fellow team members. The Aide will be under the direct supervision of the Lead Teacher. This position is designated as a *part-time position.*
Hours required are Mon-Fri 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with young children in a classroom setting
- Knowledge of child development and early childhood education practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Collaborative skills to work well in a team environment
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES:
● Aide the teacher in any way needed.
● Ensure every child's health, safety, and engagement in the classroom.
● Provide the basic needs of each child.
● Aided in setting up and maintaining each learning center area to reflect the teaching unit and/or basic learning concepts.
● Aid in the enforcement of general rules of behavior and classroom conduct.
● Receive instruction well from the Lead Teacher or Preschool Team.
● Aid in keeping track of the inventory and maintaining classroom materials and equipment.
● Be open to parental involvement and participation.
● Attend scheduled staff meetings and other scheduled events for the preschool.
● Adhere to all policies and philosophies of Kids First.
● Perform other job-related duties as deemed necessary by the Kids First administrative team.
PERSONAL
● An active, healthy personal relationship with Jesus Christ
● Experience working with young children in a classroom setting
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Collaborative skills to work well in a team environment
● Must consent to and pass a background check
EXPECTATIONS
Kids First administrative team expects the Teacher’s Aide to be a strong, supportive component of the overall program implementation, to invest in current and future avenues of training to expand their skill and knowledge of childcare ministry, and to commit to best practices for the enhancement and growth of the preschool. The Kids First administrative team also expects each Aide to make their Christian faith a vital and important aspect of their service to the children and parents they encounter.
