Overview:
Are you a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician? Have you been thinking about a job with benefits and a predictable schedule? It may be time to consider joining our team! The Maintenance Technician II position is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on public housing facilities. In this position, you will be part of a team focused on ensuring that our units are safe and well-maintained for our tenants.
Examples of work include cleaning common areas, painting interior walls and trim, repairing appliances, patching drywall, fixing handrails, changing faucets, plowing and shoveling snow, picking up trash, landscaping, repairing blinds, fixing steps, unplugging toilets and sinks, and any other possible household tasks you can imagine.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled maintenance on public housing units, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems as assigned
- Repair household fixtures and equipment, including changing toilets, fixing screens, replacing light fixtures, and patching walls
- Participate in an on-call rotation for 24-hour maintenance service
- Perform janitorial work in assigned common areas, offices, and vacant units
- Interact with tenants, guests, and the public in a manner that is respectful to all
- Use an electronic work order program to track tasks completed and inventory used
- Complete all work efficiently and correctly
- Remove snow removal from parking areas and walks using motorized equipment and hand tools
- Maintain a clean and safe working condition in tenant units, offices, shops, and vehicles
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance or related field
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Must be able to change an electrical outlet
- Must be able to remove and install a toilet
- Must be able to patch drywall
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Possess strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
