Diversity Coordinator
The Wisconsin Conference Connectional Table is seeking an individual to facilitate and administrate the work of its Diversity Council. The position description is below.
Salary $35,000.00 annually
Position Title: Diversity Coordinator
Status: This is a 50% (part-time) independent contractor position
Reports to and is supervised by: The Wisconsin Conference Connectional Table Executive Team and Director of Connectional Ministries
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a pastoral or behavioral discipline or equivalent experience. Credentialed training in intercultural relations or intercultural communication. Two or more years training or experience in group dialogue facilitation methods.
Work Schedule and Compensation: Hours of work to be determined monthly by agreement between Connectional Table Executive Team, Director of Connectional Ministries, and Diversity Council administrator based on the needs of the Diversity Council, it’s initiatives and the Conference Cross-Cultural Training Program.
Scheduled time off (unpaid) will be in consultation with the Board. No other benefits apply. Responsibilities
•Facilitate deliberations of the Wisconsin Conference Diversity Council as needed and assist in implementation of initiatives for structural change as directed by the Diversity Council.
•Coordinate and schedule cross-cultural training activities, including workshops, promotions, and publicity as directed by the Connectional Table Executive Team.
•Assist cross-cultural training steering committee in monitoring and evaluation tasks.
•Serve as the primary contact for Wisconsin Conference leaders, clergy and congregations regarding issues of multiculturalism, intercultural relations and cultural proficiency.
•Oversee evaluation and monitoring of Conference multicultural projects, including cross-cultural training, culture change and outcomes of cross-cultural appointments.
•Provide updates and reports to Connectional Table, Cabinet and Annual Conference according to an agreed-to schedule.
•Provide consultation and assistance to Connectional Table, Diversity Council, and Cross-Cultural Training Steering Committee to improve and revise training and cultural change initiatives as needed by the current context.
This is a contractual, non-employee position that will include the appropriate staffing protections instituted by the Wisconsin Conference Personnel Committee.
