DeRoyal is seeking an experienced IT professional to lead its Corporate Software Development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and directing multiple projects while leading a team of software developer professionals.
Some responsibilities include:
Establishes and maintains the mission of providing the technical services necessary to support DeRoyal and our business through sound technology and development practices.
Makes decisions to allow DeRoyal to continue to advance in our use of technology and software in order to create competitive advantage, reduce costs and increase revenues.
Provides software solutions to meet the business strategy put forth by Executive Management.
Directs team leaders, programmers, programmer analysts, systems analysts, database administrators, CNC specialists, web developers and systems administrators (include contract employees, managed services and consultants).
Analyses and evaluates existing and proposed systems and processes in order to formulate solutions for improvements.
Manages multiple tasks and projects through sound organization and planning.
Concisely communicates with all levels of organization to analyze and recommend process improvements and advise of status.
Responsible for ensuring the ability of the department to meet project deadlines and complete the tasks necessary to meet scheduled go-live dates.
Verify that projects completed by the team meet specified requirements and any code written meets departmental programming standards, including providing necessary outcome documentation and validation.
Interacts with users and other employees to analyze automated and non-automated systems in order to design systems and processes to improve efficiency.
Plans, conducts and coordinates system projects through all phases with a thorough knowledge of advanced systems, databases, software and project management.
Confers with management involved in proposed projects to ensure cooperation and further define projects.
Provides technical support and guidance to all members of the department by way of experience with software development, strong relational database knowledge, familiarity of e-commerce infrastructure, CRM, ERP, data warehousing, CNC, system administration and business intelligence.
Recruits employees and conducts quarterly and annual employee evaluations.
Monitors processes and output for accuracy and timeliness.
Provides on-call support after hours and on weekends.
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly manages five or more team leaders, programmers, programmer analysts, systems analysts and systems administrators. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in a related area with at least 15 years related experience or graduate degree and 10 years related experience. A minimum of 5 years management experience of salaried employees is required.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong project management skills required. Must be an effective problem solver.
