Universal Health Services Inc. is Hiring a CODER Near Portland, OR

Responsibilities

We are seeking an Medical Coder with an interest or background in behavioral health to join our team and to support our patients in our Inpatient Program.This role is part Medical Billing and Coding Health Management Services and is responsible for analyzing health information records and assigns appropriate ICD-9-CM for diagnoses and procedures. Prepares billing statements, helps to resolve conflicts regarding payments and reimbursements, and responds in writing and on the telephone to physician questions about billing. Investigates and reports inconsistencies in billing to appropriate staff, provides information and prepares documents for inquiries, ensures the confidentiality of patients' personal information, performs clerical duties that may include answering the telephone, greeting employee's, and sorting mail. Accurate data entry required to enter patient information into computer files, and also into paper records. Organizes, manages, and sorts paperwork (including patients' charts), and updates coding/billing in charts as needed.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) years' experience, with knowledge of medical records coding and medical terminology, and an understanding of the clinical information environment licensure: Licensed to practice in the State of Oregon as a mental health professional or working to obtain licensure.

Additional Requirements: Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of Computer proficiency and word processing: ICD-9-CM coding experience preferred
