- Prioritize and adhere to safety rules and regulations, promptly addressing and escalating safety risks when identified.
- Ensure the safe operation of all equipment and devices within the production environment.
- Propose and oversee improvements in preventive maintenance strategies to enhance tool performance and prevent recurrence of issues.
- Diagnose and resolve tool breakdowns, performing necessary repairs on components and sub-assemblies.
- Utilize the Tool Condition Report (TCR) process to maintain tools in optimal condition.
- Perform close-tolerance machining based on detailed engineering blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to fabricate metal and plastic tools and parts.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment according to the 5S system.
- Follow work instructions and actively contribute to proposed process improvements.
- Proficiently dismantle and maintain injection molding tools of up to 500 tons capacity.
- Operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders, displaying strong technical skills.
- Possess a basic understanding of CNC machining techniques (experience is a plus).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required, Trade school classes related to tooling or machining are a plus.
- Solid knowledge of plastic injection mold making and mold manufacturing.
- Proficient blueprint reading skills.
- Familiarity with a variety of injection molding tooling and mold-making techniques.
- Basic computer skills, along with a good grasp of dimensioning and tolerance practices.
