By Light Professional IT Services is Hiring a Computer Technician I Near Port Orange, FL

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Computer Technician I to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and a strong desire to provide exceptional technical assistance to our organization's employees and clients. As a Computer Technician I, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our computer systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and assisting with hardware and software installations.
The hours for this position will be 730am - 530pm.
  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users through various channels such as in-person, remote assistance, email, and phone.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, peripherals, and other IT equipment.
  • Install, configure, and update operating systems, applications, and drivers.
  • Set up and deploy new workstations, including hardware assembly, software installations, and network connectivity.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on computer systems.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate and resolve complex technical problems in a timely manner.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of hardware inventory, and equipment configurations.
  • Provide guidance to users on basic troubleshooting procedures and best practices for using computer systems and software applications.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of IT support documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Participate in technology projects and initiatives as assigned by the IT supervisor or manager.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified Professional)
  • 2 years prior experience in a technical support role or a similar capacity.
  • Strong familiarity with Windows operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and configurations.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
  • Detail-oriented and methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing technology and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • IT or Computer Science Bachelors’ degree or similar related degree
  • VOIP Avaya phone system knowledge.
  • Ability to Obtain a Public trust may eventually be required.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry computer equipment and perform basic hardware installations.
  • Stay on feet for extended periods of time.
