Custom Truck One Source is Hiring a GENERAL MANAGER Near Point, SD

SUMMARY 

Provide oversight, leadership, and support in the daily activities of the Elk Point facility in order to ensure operational integrity. The General Manager will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of public or private sector organizations, overseeing multiple departments or locations. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Coordinates with engineering to implement and monitor new manufacturing and assembly processes that fully support Quality and Business plans
  • Review performance data to measure productivity or goal achievement or to identify areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with the production, pricing, sales, or distribution of products.
  • Direct administrative activities directly related to making products or providing services.
  • Establish or implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, or procedures in conjunction with board members, organization officials, or staff members.
  • Perform personnel functions, such as selection, training, or evaluation.
  • Plan or direct activities, such as sales promotions, that require coordination with other department managers
  • Manage the movement of goods into and out of production facilities to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, or sustainability of operations.
  • Recommend locations for new facilities or oversee the remodeling or renovating of current facilities.
  • Implement or oversee environmental management or sustainability programs addressing issues such as recycling, conservation, or waste management.
  • Responsible for overseeing and ensuring accurate process work instructions that meet internal and external customer requirements
  • Devises strategies to make production more efficient
  • Collaborates with teams to produce the most efficient manufacturing processes
  • Conducts pre-build review with production staff as required
  • Observes Compliance, Quality Process, and Safety within process development
  • Responsible for floor layouts to improve flow and efficiency through shop processes
  • Adhere to all company safety standards

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

The following are representative of the knowledge and skills requirements necessary for an applicant to be successful in the role of Branch Manager. 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering or related field required or equivalent experience.
  • At least ten years of related experience required.
  • Experience in Operations leadership, manufacturing, or similar fields
  • Previous union management experience desired

MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

The following are representative of the mental and physical requirements necessary for an applicant perform the essential functions of this role:

  • Attitude: This job requires "people" skills and a genuine desire to service the client. A positive attitude and willingness to maintain a professional demeanor with clients and team members is essential to this position.
  • Attendance – The ability to work as scheduled with punctual attendance, Monday-Friday plus any additional hours/days necessary in order to meet business demands. 
  • The job may be performed under extreme temperature variations and some hazardous conditions.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42”, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling throughout an 8-12 hour day, 60 hours per week.
  • Must be able to safely operate equipment at heights up to and exceeding 100 feet.
  • Oral Expression and comprehension — The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. 
  • Written Comprehension and expression — The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
  • Reasoning — The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. The ability to tell when something is wrong and solve the problem or seek advice.
  • Manual dexterity – The ability to type or operate common mechanical tools and equipment up to 12 hours per day, 60hoursper week.
  • Lifting – The ability to bend, stoop and lift up to 10 lbs.
