At STERIS, the Production Planner is responsible to ensure that an uninterrupted flow of product is available to meet Customer demand/forecast as agreed upon with Global Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service via the Sales Operation & Planning (S&OP) model. An understanding of best practices in scheduling, MRP systems, and data/metric analysis is essential for this role to be successful.

* Develop and maintain procedures and work instructions to support master planning.
* Researches and resolves daily MPS and MRP problems including identifying product structure problems, input and other errors.
* Performs extensive data entry.
* Responsible for creating, measuring, disseminating and presenting statistical data and variance reporting and analysis.
* Ensure proper load and maintenance of the MPS as well as any Master Planned Order
* Schedule sales orders in Oracle to availability, SSQ lead-time and to best meet customer's requirements
* Deliver excellent customer service to the Field to support strong Customer satisfaction in the STERIS brand.

* Bachelor degree preferred with minimum of three (3) years relevant experience. Minimum of thirteen (13) years experience will be accepted in lieu of degree.
* APICS (CPIM/CIRM) or other Planning related certifications preferred, but not required.
* Knowledge of ERP Systems, Master Production Scheduling, Material Requirement Planning, Production Planning, and Capacity Planning.
* Creating and maintaining detailed master production plan that aligns with S&OP process.
* Must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
* Previous experience with Oracle, SAP, or similar manufacturing systems.
* Demonstrated knowledge of continuous improvement projects and lean tools.
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
* Demonstrated technical ability to utilize supply chain planning tools and systems.
* Strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, and able to synthesize considerable amounts of complex data.
