Position Title: Windows Server Administrator

Job Purpose:

Job requires performing duties inside global corporate data center environment. Responsible for installation and maintenance of over 100 servers on physical, virtual, blade & cloud platforms. Routinely build MS 2012/R2 servers using VMWare 6, HP DL/BL physical boxes and Amazon AWS cloud. Critical applications support provided for ADP, VDI, Agile, IIS, SQL, Helpdesk, HR, CM. Document, Present & Train application users as changes to back-end environments occur. Control system access using MS ADUC groups and policies; Monitor health of devices using Nagios in conjunction with version control. Apply system updates using WSUS; Configure backups and data retention using Carbonite/Evault tape-less BU. Comply with change management, server licensing and user access controls according to corporate, state and federal standards including SOX/DFARS.

Nature of Duties:

• Onsite in Huntsville, AL
• Provide system support and maintenance for high availability servers.
• General scripting, PowerShell automation and troubleshooting of systems and applications.
• Support domain networking services such as DNS and DHCP.
• Support web hosted application environments.
• Proactive systems monitoring and maintenance with native and 3rd party applications (Nagios, AD Management, WSUS, etc.)
• Configure backups and data retention using Carbonite/Evault tape-less BU.
• Participation in maintenance windows and on-call rotation is required.
• Work effectively with developers, support and other System Administrators to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as identified by the customer and application teams.
• Work effectively with vendors and suppliers to upgrade hardware Firmware.
• Work with remote office(s). This position is part of a mission-critical team that is available on-call 24/7.
• Conduct and direct research into IT issues and products.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3 years of direct hands on experience with Microsoft systems infrastructure deployment and administration.
• Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Servers.
• Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Technologies including but not limited to:
  • Windows Server 2016, 2019/R2 and 2012/R2.
  • IIS, NET
  • GPO management
  • Active Directory and ADSI Edit including cross-functional forests and trusts.
• Technical knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols, such as DNS, DHCP, SFTP, SSL, VPN.
• Strong knowledge of server virtualization, specifically VMware.
• Experience with Microsoft Powershell scripting or other applicable scripting technologies.
• Experience with server configuration automation tools and automating processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication and time management skills.
• Keen attention to detail with proven analytical, evaluative, and problem solving abilities.
• Self-starter, positive and excited to work with a team of excellent engineers.
