Kennel assistants are responsible for cleaning and disinfecting kennels, feeding animals and administering medications. They monitor the health and behavior of animals to ensure they have a safe and comfortable living environment. Kennel assistants should have excellent animal handling skills and attention to detail. They must be efficient in problem analysis, critical thinking and decision making. Kennel assistants should be able to work well under pressure as they interact with both staff members and clients in a very busy environment.
