Job Title: Sr. Database Administrator
Hybrid Role: Required to come onsite 3 days a week. (Tues. Wed. Thurs.)

Job Description:
The position will work directly with various IT associates including Application Development, Server Admin, Networking, Database Administration, and others.
Specific Duties:
1. Provide Mid-level Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration support. (e.g., Installing / Upgrading / Backup and Recovery / Configuring / SSMS / SSIS / SSRS / Always on Failover Clustering / Performance Tuning / Troubleshooting).
2. Monitor, evaluate and resolve database system health issues. Provide guidance on query redesign, index modifications, database configuration changes, and database related application process improvements.
3. Provide performance monitoring and measuring of all database components and provide input on capacity and performance planning.
4. Escalate issues for technical assistance as required.
5. Participate in basic to moderately complex projects as assigned as a team member.
6. Produce and maintain documentation of various database related processes and procedures.
7. Apply administration security, design and performance best practices in daily operations.
8. Participation in a 24/7 Production support call rotation.
9. Willingness to learn and support other Database managements systems as needed (BigQuery, MySQL, PostGreSQL).
Qualifications:
1. BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent knowledge acquired by work experience and training.
2. Industry-recognized technical certifications are a plus (e.g. SQL, MCDBA)
3. Working Knowledge of database file structure, retrieval and access methods, and performance analysis. Demonstrated analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, judgment, and the ability to work effectively with clients and IT associates in a collaborative and cooperative manner. Basic Understanding of the development process and business process.
4. Five (5) or more years’ related IT experience working as a SQL Server database administrator and familiarization with related technologies and tools.
