POSITION TITLE: Peer Support Specialist
Position Purpose: Qualified individuals who have successfully recovered from a behavioral health condition (mental health, substance use, or co-occurring) that works collaboratively with other clinical staff to provide peer support services as part of a multi-disciplinary team to persons with mental illness and/or substance abuse problems that are in crisis. As part of our team, you assist individuals throughout the recovery process, helping them gain skills, access resources, and regain the confidence to succeed in society. The Peer Support Specialist model recovery, advocate on client behalf, conduct groups & individual sessions, interact with families, and link consumer to community resources.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Program Director, Assistant Program Director, and Clinical Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
JOB RELATED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
. • Must have the ability to pass a criminal background investigation.
1. High school diploma or GED certificate
2. Peer Support Specialist certification or obtained within 2 years of hire if have lived experience and in recovery and meets all other qualifications.
3. Clearance on Background/DOJ Live scan result per contract requirements.
4. Negative reading from pre-employment TB and Drug Tests.
5. Valid California driver’s license and current auto insurance per contract requirements.
6. Food Handlers Card 7. CPR/First Aid Certification
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
