Komatsu is Hiring an Utility worker Near Peoria, IL

Job Overview

The primary job duties for this position include regular operation of overhead cranes up to 50 Ton, and / or the use of various tyes of material handling equipment.

Material handling equipment may vary from 6,000# capacity forktrucks up to 15 ton forklifts. May operate any of the following onsite equipment including but not limited to : non-CDL trucks, train engine track mobile used to move train cars within the facility, yard crane, or mule train.

This position may work within either the production function or the logistics function for the Peoria facility.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Operation of radio controlled overhead cranes up to 50 Ton
  • Rigging work necessary to prepare crane lifts for overhead crane lifts
  • Use of various pieces of material handling equipment which vary from 6000# forktrucks up to 15 ton capacity forklifts.
  • May operate any of the following onsite equipment including but not limited to : non-CDL trucks, train engine (yes, really!) track mobile used to move train cars within the facility, yard crane, or mule train, and spotter
  • This position may work within either the production or the logistics function for at the Peoria facility.

Qualifications / Requirements

Preference will be given to those who demonstrate the following qualifications :

  • Three or more years of documented experience operating material handling equipment in a large-scale warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Significant experience operating overhead cranes of 20 ton or greater capacity.
  • Experience rigging materials in preparation for crane lifts
  • Ability to learn and follow industrial safety processes.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal to work effectively with all facility employees.
  • Ability to identify and label parts, if necessary using blueprints
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Demonstrated math skills that reflect the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.
  • Valid driver's license
