Position Purpose Associate Business Analyst will provide technical support to internal and external business partners. Independently or under supervision, Associate Business Analyst will work with the Transactional Group business and IT teams to identify and implement various improvements that promote business strategy. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Provide technical support for customers and internal business partners by identifying, investigating, and resolving reported system issues. Support RLI Transactional Group operations and processes by performing various system configurations and admin activities. Work with the Transactional Group Management and the Business Analyst teams in order to identify key process or technology enhancements that directly support growth, retention, and customer centric business strategy. Work with the Business Analyst, Product Owner and RLI technology teams to develop, prioritize, and successfully execute on Transactional Group technology opportunities. Play a role in designing and documenting Transactional Group business and system processes. Play a role in identifying and documenting Transactional Group business requirements. Translate business requirements into functionality and manage requirements effectively. -*Identify and document test scenarios and, when necessary, perform system testing. Perform routine data analysis activities. Convey user preferences to development teams and demonstrate understanding of business users’ information needs. Stay abreast of technology standards/trends and relate to business problems. Work on special projects as needed. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field and 0-2 years of relevant experience is preferred. In lieu of education, 2-5 years of experience is required. Insurance industry knowledge or experience is preferred. Candidate would be sponsored (by Company) to complete related industry certifications. Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies Time management, problem solving and attention to detail. Understands project management and agile methodologies. Ability to analyze business needs and processes in order to find workable solutions. Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to internal contacts on business process matters. Ability to use software to analyze small amounts of data. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts. A data and analytical background and experience working on insurance-related products is preferred. Exposure to business process analysis and reengineering is preferred. Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills. Ability to take notes for reference.
