Position Overview: VERSION:1 JOB TITLE:Manager Radiology COST CENTER:000000 JOB CODE:13706 FLSA Exemption Status:Exempt Telecommuting Eligible: SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB) Manages the day-to-day clinical activities and administrative operations for Radiology Diagnostic Services. Facilitates alignment across common goals, and assists in pushing forward long-term strategic goals under the direct supervision of the Director of Radiology. Plans for the most efficient use of materials and human resources. Assists with budget development, equipment quality control and maintenance, inventory and ordering of supplies, and performance improvement. Maintains interactive communication with patients and families and effectively addresses conflict and opportunities for improvement. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education:Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology. New Jersey Radiology Technologist License. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Associate’s degree. Experience:Five years of experience as a radiographer with two years of supervisory responsibilities. Other Credentials:AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider,Diagnostic Radiography License Knowledge and Skills:Competent in technical aspects of radiography. Possesses knowledge of radiation protection and safety and HIPAA regulations. Possesses excellent organizational, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and ability to respond quickly in a fast paced environment. Special Training:Possesses general computer knowledge to keep department records. Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Usual Work Day:8 Hours REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Does this position formally supervise employees? Yes If set to YES, then this position has the authority (delegated) to hire, terminate, discipline, promote or effectively recommend such to manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Works to build and maintain a strong, productive working rapport between the various sections of the Radiology Department (i.e. CT Scan, IR, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology). Monitors the quality of service provided and acts as a resource to the all staff. Responsible for hiring, supervising and evaluating work performance for radiology staff. Enforces personnel policies in the department, up to and including disciplinary actions. Develops plans for projected future needs and maintains targeted financial margins by tracking expenses, maximizing reimbursements, and staffing level. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and knowledge about department financial operations. Assists the Director of Radiology to develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services. Assures services are provided within the professional and regulatory accrediting standards. Provides guidance and direction to staff for the purpose of planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling activities for the provision of quality services. Coordinates and oversees all mandatory staff training and maintains appropriate attendance records. Assists in preparation and administration of departmental operational budget. Directs the allocation of resources in compliance with budgetary and fiscal goals, monitors budget performance on an ongoing basis and recommends or takes corrective action if necessary. Oversees all aspects of the revenue cycle in areas of responsibility to ensure accuracy and completion of all processes. Acts as the focal point for the ordering and maintaining of patient care supplies and equipment for the Radiology Department. Manages vendor relationships and assists in building effective partnerships. Assesses new equipment and participates with equipment contracts. Prepares timely purchase requisitions for supplies, and approves requests for supplies under the direction of the Director. Assesses current technologies, reengineers existing programs or develops new programs to enhance efficiency, profitability or service levels. Develops strategies that promote customer satisfaction for internal customers, referring physicians and patients and serve as an opportunity to create positive outcomes with customers by evaluating provided services to ensure services meet customer needs and exploring options to implement new services if necessary. Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to professional development. Demonstrates competence in applicable professional skills and participates in continuing professional education. Provides education opportunities for staff and patients. Performs other duties as assigned. Manages human resources activities to achieve the mission and goals of the department and support the CH mission. Assures operational goals and objectives are obtained through planning, implementing and direction of programs, procedures, systems and support personnel. Contributes to development of new programs, staff development and education.
