Summary: Responsible for having a genuine love for dogs, possessing excellent grooming techniques, and exhibiting outstanding customer service skills. As a Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for providing grooming services to various dog breeds according to the clients' specifications while ensuring the safety and comfort of each dog by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Performs grooming services such as bathing, brushing, hair trimming, nail clipping, and ear cleaning according to breed standards and client preferences.*
2. Assesses the condition of each dog's coat, skin, and overall health, and reports any abnormalities or concerns to the pet owners.*
3. Handles and restrains dogs safely and gently during grooming procedures to minimize stress and ensure their comfort.*
4. Communicates effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming requirements and provide recommendations based on the dog's breed and coat type.*
5. Maintains cleanliness and organization within the grooming area, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use.*
6. Keeps accurate records of grooming appointments, services provided, and any special instructions from pet owners.*
7. Stays updated on the latest grooming techniques, tools, and industry trends through continuous learning and professional development.*
8. Upholds the company's standards for customer service and professionalism, ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their owners.*
9. Follows salon protocols and safety guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, or the spread of infectious diseases among dogs and staff members.*
Qualifications:

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Equipment:
● Basic Grooming Tools
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
● Proven experience working with dogs in a professional grooming salon or similar environment.
● Proficiency in bathing/brushing various dog breeds and familiarity with breed-specific grooming standards.
● Strong knowledge of dog behavior, handling techniques, and safety protocols.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to
interact effectively with pet owners and colleagues.
Physical Demands:
● Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for dogs.
● Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
● Certification from a recognized grooming school or program is preferred but not required.
● Flexibility to work weekends and mornings/evenings as needed.
● Ability to groom cats is preferred but not required.
