US Naval Air Systems Command is Hiring a PROGRAM MANAGER Near Patuxent River, MD

Duties

  • You will serve as a participant in the development of an acquisition strategy that serves as the framework for integrating functional activities essential to the acquisition effort and serves as the basis for specific program management documents.
  • You will identify and plan for personnel and functional management support required to execute the acquisition strategy.
  • You will direct the preparation of documents, specifications, requirements, criteria, and standards, which define needs, and parameters of the program.
  • You will assure that all planning is fully integrated with overall Navy efforts and those of other participating services and agencies, when involved.
  • You will serve as the central contact point within the program office for all matters concerning the assigned program.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing a wide range of technical and business systems, processes, and practices used to manage weapon systems acquisition; 2) Reviewing, analyzing, and implementing higher level procurement policies; 3) Managing project/program requirements, objectives and metrics, and resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources; 4) Identifying opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities; 5) Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducting special studies, proposing options and alternatives, and representing a command.
