Company Overview
Coffee With A Cause is a non-profit organization that provides job training and paid internships to transitional age youth (TAY), 16-24, who have experienced foster care, homelessness, and/or justice system-involvement. Coffee With A Cause owns and primarily operates out of the social enterprise cafe, Rosebud Coffee.
We are seeking a part-time (transitioning to full-time once funding is secured) Program Coordinator to oversee our youth programming. This position will work in close collaboration with the Operations Manager and with our non-profit referral and local business (internship placement) partners.
Responsibilities
This is a half-time role that will develop into full-time. Responsibilities below will scale as hours increase. The Program Coordinator, with the support and oversight of the Operations Manager, will:
● Onboard youth into the program including conducting interviews, collecting, recording, and filing paperwork, and arranging internship placements
● Schedule and conduct employment soft skill trainings sessions and barista skill training sessions for each cohort
● Maintain ongoing communication and support for program participants, including monthly site visits, ensuring timesheets are submitted, and working with internship supervisors, case
managers, and/or CWAC staff to address issues as needed
● Oversees the mentor volunteer interviews, and mentor matching and training process
● Ensure successful transitions for graduating youth interns including regular communication on remaining time in the program and next steps, program completion paperwork, and transition support as needed
● Regularly take photos and videos of youth during training and internships to be used for
CWAC social media and promotional materials
Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field
● Minimum 2 years of youth programming experience
● Kindness, patience and professionalism
● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
● Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
● Capable of handling and maintaining sensitive and/or confidential information and
conversations
● Passionate about TAY and community collaboration and partnerships
Desired Characteristics
● Prior training in trauma-informed care
● Past experience with foster care, homelessness or the juvenile justice system, either
professionally, as a volunteer, and/or personally
● Knowledge of and personal experience with public transit
● Barista experience (able and willing to train if there is no prior experience)
Compensation
● Half-time, salaried position ($25-27,000 while half-time, depending on experience)
