Parker Core Knowledge is Hiring an Art Teacher - Elementary Near Parker, CO

Start Date 8/1/2024

As an art teacher, you already know that school art programs not only help improve fine motor skills, they also help students learn to focus, make decisions, and persevere through challenges. At PCK, we recognize the value of developing the whole student, and we provide art education for every elementary student and offer art as a middle school elective. We also showcase student creations throughout the school, and feature student work in an annual art show.

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Art Teacher in the 2024-2025 school year! The schedule is Monday - Friday from 10am - 4pm or 30 hours per week.

Art Teacher Requirements

1. Educational Level: Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts or Elementary Education, with an emphasis or interest in Art

2. Certification/License Preferred: Colorado Teaching License or prior art teaching experience

3. Experience: Prior classroom experience preferred, along with experience teaching art.

4: Physical Activities: Sit, stand, walk, talk, bend, lift, hear, operate computer/office equipment.

5: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong classroom management skills required. Personal creativity and a passion for the arts, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills desired.

Essential Duties

1. Deliver quality art instruction in alignment with the Core Knowledge Scope & Sequence and Colorado state standards.

2. Develop lesson plans in accordance with Art & Art History learning objectives and state standards.

3. Ensure a safe and clean learning environment by preparing the classroom prior to/after each class.

4. Develop the student skills in drawing, painting, ceramics and other art techniques.

5. Provide instruction on the use of different art mediums.

6. Assign and grade projects and examinations

7. Record and report student progress.

8. Manage art supply inventory and order supplies, as needed.

9. Solicit and schedule parent volunteers to assist in the art room.

10. Attend staff and parent-teacher meetings, as needed.

Salary Range:
The anticipated starting salary for this position is expected to be $36,000 - $39,000 (40 hour full time equivalent $48,000 - $50,000) depending on experience, skill level and total hours.
