Position: Registered Nurse - ER

Summary

• The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room (ER) is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in emergent and critical situations.
• They assess patients, administer treatments and medications, coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, and ensure timely and effective responses to medical emergencies.
• The ER nurse must possess strong clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and the ability to remain calm and focused on high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Asses patients upon arrival at the emergency department, including triaging patients based on the severity of their condition.
• Perform initial and ongoing physical assessments, including vital signs monitoring, neurological assessments, and pain assessments.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and intervene promptly to address any complications or deterioration.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Respond to medical emergencies within the facility, including cardiac arrests, traumas, and other life-threatening events.

Requirements

• BLS
• ACLS
• TNCC
• ENPC or PALS
• NIHSS from AHA
• RN license in MN
