Our ideal candidate is someone with a passion for growing a small business, strong leadership skills, a self-starter, and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and, independently when needed. Interest in completing administrative and business operational tasks is highly preferred. Must be willing to learn about NightHawk’s history, wine, processes, and basic vineyard/wine knowledge (training provided). Must be able to work weekends and be comfortable opening and closing tasting room and cash registrars. This candidate must be comfortable/able to work inside/outside. This is a hybrid in-person/remote position– a lot of admin work can be done from home but your presence in the tasting room on most weekends is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the highest level of customer service and support as well as increase sales
- Present yourself as upbeat and outgoing
- Supervise tasting room staff and oversee an efficient day-to-day operation of the tasting room
- Oversee food truck and pizza oven operations and quality
- Assign duties and schedules for tasting room staff
- Manage maintenance and inventory of supplies for the tasting room
- Manage maintenance of all tasting room equipment
- Presence in the tasting room during opening hours to supervise the performance and interactions of tasting room staff with customers
- Educate tasting room staff regarding our wines and presentation
- Conduct training of newly hired tasting room staff
- Coordinate events (respond to inquiries, book and staff events, and be present at event)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Tasting Room area
- Washing dishes (glassware, and occasional items from our food truck/pizza oven)
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations when handling food
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any inquiries or concerns
- Must be physically able to pick up a case of full bottles, 40 lbs.
- Must be physically able to be on your feet most of the day.
- Taking pictures/videos for social media
Admin/Operational
- Monthly inventory & rectifying numbers as needed
- Weekly inventory of tasting room items and food
- Monthly tax submissions
- Weekly/biweekly newsletter
- Menu creation & Tasting notes
- Ordering items as needed for Tasting Room operations
- On-site and off-site event registration & organization
- Assist the Winemaker as needed with projections, inventory, suggestions, new wine creations,wine names, labels, etc. Be as involved as you would like here!
- Scheduling music performances (2024 complete)
- Social Media Posting
- Seek out sales/Distribution opportunities
- Optimize business operations and look for opportunities to grow
- Responding to online reviews/SM comments, etc.
