Managed by Radiate Hospitality, Hotel Keen is a 42-room hotel located right in the heart of bustling Downtown Palo Alto, less than a few minute walk from the Stanford Campus and Shopping Center. Hotel Keen is on the cutting edge of innovative hospitality with personalized services that caters to tech savvy travelers on the go. Just like its guests, Hotel Keen is fresh, stylish, and functional. Also managed by Radiate Hospitality, Hotel Lucent is a 47-room hotel located on the border of Palo Alto and Menlo Park and boasts innovative indoor/outdoor spaces to meet, dine and sleep for the entrepreneurial spirit. Lucent is a great place for business travelers who love to socialize with drinks and activities, recharges in a lively social setting and wants a hip experience without all the attitude associated with a boutique hotel.

What We Look For

We are looking for a leader who is passionate about providing genuine heartfelt care to our guest and employees. Our Area General Manager is energetic, engaged and is a strategic leader. As our Area General Manager your mission is to provide hotel guests with a WOW experience and to deliver on our brand promise of Work. Play. Connect.

The Area General Manager will oversee two boutique hotels; Hotel Lucent and Hotel Keen. Work with your team to oversee, direct and manage property operations of this unique property for optimum performance and continual improvement in these five Key areas: guest service, employee satisfaction and development, sales/marketing, property appearance, and profit/financial control.

The Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop the performance of all operating departments including, but not limited to: reservations, front office, guest Services, housekeeping, security and maintenance to insure the highest possible levels of guest satisfaction in a cost efficient manner.
• Monitor and participate in sales and marketing plans that result in optimum, rate and occupancy for the hotel and meet or exceed established budgetary guidelines for the hotel.
• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all period-end financial statements and reports, and provide controls to ensure the proper handling and accounting for all hotel receipts.
• Weekly forecasting and planning of operating staffing ad cost expenditures to correspond to forecasted sales and costs. Develop action plans to maximize occupancy and to maximize average rate.
• Responsible for maximizing revenues and flow through to GOP to meet or exceed budget.
• Responsible for preparation of property budget and forecasts.
• Work with Regional Director of Sales.
• Work with sales staff to manage all sales activities of the property and meet revenue objectives, activities include setting goals, completing competitive surveys, taking reservations and compiling reports.
• Review and approve all operating expenses.
• Perform other tasks associated as necessary in order to achieve the financial performance and goals of the organization.
• Directs preparation of directives to division or department administrator outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented.
• Promotes organization in industry, manufacturing or trade associations.
• Assure regular repair, upkeep, and overall general maintenance of the hotel and provide a system of on-going maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Ensure all hotel policies and procedures are fully implemented in all departments, including safety, emergency guidelines, etc.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages all hotel employees (includes, Housekeeping, Engineering, Sales, Front Office, and Reservations) and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
• Work with Human Resources to recruit qualified applicants and train employees in accordance with company standards.

The Model Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university in hospitality is preferred.
• 4 years related hospitality management experience required.
• 3 years previous GM/Director of Operations experience at a luxury/boutique hotel is preferred.
