Human service organization in E. Palo Alto is looking for a compassionate, service-oriented Direct Support Staff to join our team.
We are open to individuals with the right attitude and the desire to learn to support individuals in reaching their goals.

Some responsibilities include:
1. assisting individuals with intellectual challenges with their daily activities. This support will be through direct participation, encouraging personal choices, learning new skills, and increasing confidence and competence at home and in the community
2. You must be able to participate in household activities and transport/accompany individuals to/from appointments, shopping, or other outings.
3. You must be able to model and encourage appropriate social skills, communication, and healthy interpersonal boundaries.
4. Cooperation and effective communication with residents, peers, supervisors, families, and consultants as part of a team is key to providing quality services.
5. Daily documentation and ensuring a safe environment as well as any other duties as assigned.
Experience working with individuals with cognitive or behavioral challenges is preferred, but not necessary. If you have other comparable human service experience or training, you are encouraged to apply.
Fingerprinting, First Aid, CPR, Driver’s License, and Health/TB Screening required.
You must be able to reach, bend, push, pull, stoop, sit, stand, or walk for periods of time.
Must be 18-years-of-age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.25 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 64 per week
