- 2nd Shift: 3P – 11P
- Machine Setup: Assist in setting up the machinery before production runs. Assists in adjusting machine settings, calibrating equipment, and ensuring proper alignment for accurate and consistent coating application.
- Machine Operation: Work closely with the Machine Operator to monitor the production process. Observe machinery performance and report any irregularities or malfunctions promptly. Operate machine controls under supervision. Feed raw materials into machines as needed. Splice rolls with assistance from the operator. Read production schedule to determine which product to be slit, read Manufacturing Specifications to determine how the product should be slit. Follow all Work Instructions that are related to assignment.
- Machine Maintenance: Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks on the machinery to keep it in optimal working condition. This may involve cleaning, lubricating, or replacing parts as needed. They also diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, making minor repairs or coordinating with maintenance for more significant issues.
- Quality Control: Perform basic quality checks including visual inspections. Measure product width, make sure proper cartons and labels are used. Identify and remove defective products from the production line.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure all safety features of the coating machinery are functional and that operators are using appropriate PPE (as required). Also, comply with environmental regulations and handle hazardous materials or waste in accordance with proper disposal procedures.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production data, including material usage, machine settings, production rates, and quality checks. Complete production reports, log any issues or deviations and communicate with supervisors or other team members regarding production status or concerns.
- Other tasks as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE: A minimum of (1) years of manufacturing or production experience (preferred), with a high school diploma/equivalent.
SKILLS:
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and understand production specifications
- Neat and accurate record-keeping
- Analytical abilities for problem resolution
- Ensure we maintain a professional, safe, productive, and compliant work environment.
- Maintain and properly store shop tools and equipment with good housekeeping.
- Basic Math: Understanding and application of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Including fractions and decimals.
- Communication: Effective communication is crucial. You will need to communicate and collaborate with colleagues working different shifts, ensuring smooth handovers and sharing relevant information.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: The ability to maintain regular attendance is critical. The ability to adapt to varying shift lengths and workdays (8 - 12-hour shifts and occasional weekends).
- Stamina: Often involves extended periods of activity and concentration.
- Time Management: Effective time management skills to stay focused, prioritize tasks, and maintain productivity throughout the entire shift.
- Constant standing, walking, and repetitive motions
- Frequent lifting/carrying 50lbs – 75lbs
- Various physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, etc.
