Position Overview: As a Tax Analyst at Ranpak Corp, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations, optimizing tax strategies, and providing valuable insights to support our financial objectives. Reporting to the Tax Manager, you will be responsible for various tax-related tasks, including tax planning, preparation, and analysis.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, personal property tax and other regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

  • Submit payments related to tax filings as required.
  • Verify account balances by performing reconciliations on tax general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure the organization is current with changing tax obligations and contact tax agencies to apply for and set up new tax IDs as necessary.

· Conduct thorough research on tax laws, regulations, and rulings to stay updated on changes that may impact the company's tax obligations.

· Support the Tax Manager in managing tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, including gathering relevant documentation and responding to inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.

· Provide assistance with the preparation of the quarterly and annual tax reporting requirements and tax provisions.

· Continuously evaluate and enhance tax processes and procedures to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and maintain compliance.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

· Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in tax compliance, planning, or consulting, preferably in a corporate environment or public accounting firm.

· CPA preferred, but not required.

· Must possess strong mathematical and quantitative skills to handle tax audits, reconciliations, and other related tax matters.

· Must be meticulously detailed to ensure excellent reconciliation and consistently accurate filing of reports, preparation of documents, and effective performance of other duties assigned.

· Must possess strong analytical skills to create highly detailed tax reports and accurately fill out tax forms.

· Ability to deal with difficult situations involving sensitive and confidential issues.

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to ensure completion within assigned deadlines.
  • Able to perform duties independently.
  • Able to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Platform including, Word and Outlook with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with ASC-740, tax provisions and tax audits for a publicly traded company.
  • Ability to perform research and analysis for various tax matters.
  • Experience with One Source tax products and SAP desired, but not necessary.

· Keyboarding/typing on a computer for extended periods of time
