Summary: We are seeking a proactive and hands-on continuous improvement leader to join our team. This pivotal role involves working closely with employees on the shop- floor and the operations support group to implement systems and processes that enhance efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate will be deeply familiar with assembly or batch manufacturing processes and will leverage this experience to lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives across our operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor managers, supervisors and shop-floor employees on Lean/CI principles, practices, and tools to positively impact Safety, Quality, Deliver, Cost, and Innovation.
  • Analyze current assembly processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
  • Lead and manage projects through all project management cycles. This includes setting project goals, timelines, and budgets, as well as coordinating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Collect and analyze data from production metrics to track progress and identify trends. Use this data to make suggestions on actionable improvements
  • Develop training programs to enhance team skills in lean manufacturing, quality control, and other relevant areas.
  • Work closely with other departments such as Planning, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, logistics, to ensure that the assembly line operates smoothly and efficiently.
  • Lead efforts to make the valve assembly process more sustainable. This could involve implementing energy-efficient practices, reducing material waste, and optimizing resource usage.
  • Lead and facilitate kaizen events and other continuous improvement activities to achieve measurable improvements in SQDCI. Identifies, tracks and report metrics to demonstrate the positive results achieved through continuous improvement efforts.
  • Help teams identify new projects through value stream mapping, data analysis and daily management system. Support and lead value stream mapping sessions to identify and eliminate the sources of waste, decrease lead times, lower costs, and increase overall value proposition for our customers.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of seven (7) years applying Lean Principles, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence, within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Must have facilitated multiple 5S, Kaizen, SMED, or VSM events and delivered results against stated objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Lean certification from a reputable organization or certifying body; preferably (Bronze-level) certification from the Lean Certification Alliance
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB)
  • Certification in Project Manager (PMP)
  • Experience with automation applications and implementation a plus.
