Matrix PMO is Hiring a Project Estimator Near Port Gibson, MS

MATRIX is looking for an experienced and talented Project Estimator to assist one of our great clients onsite in Mississippi! Candidates must have 6 years of estimating experience at a nuclear power plant and experience and proficiency with WinEst is preferred. Multiple competency levels are considered.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Level 2

  • Quantitative and mathematical skills, including advanced statistical analysis of complex projects.
  • Deep understanding of the electric utility industry, well-versed in industry-specific standards, codes, and best practices.
  • Mastery of estimating software, including the ability to customize and optimize software for specific project needs.
  • Capable of not only managing but also developing and enhancing cost databases to improve estimating accuracy.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in complex projects with numerous variables and components.
  • Proficient in using project scheduling tools and techniques for more accurate estimation and project planning.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex estimates and analyses to clients and senior management.
  • in-depth understanding of risk analysis and mitigation strategies, including probabilistic cost estimating methods.
  • advanced ability to analyze and interpret complex construction plans, designs, and specifications.
  • Thorough knowledge of all relevant laws, regulations, permits, and environmental considerations for projects.
  • Proven ability to lead estimation teams and collaborate effectively with other project stakeholders, including engineers, architects, and contractors.
  • Capable of managing project budgets effectively and implementing cost control measures to ensure projects stay on track financially, if requested.
  • Understanding of project management principles and methodologies to integrate estimation with overall project planning.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships, addressing client concerns, and providing excellent customer service.

Sr Level (in addition to the requirements above)

  • Exceptional proficiency in complex mathematical and statistical analysis, including advanced quantitative techniques and modeling.
  • Expertise in using estimating software, as well as the ability to customize, develop, and implement specialized software tools tailored to unique project requirements.
  • Ability to design, maintain, and continuously improve extensive cost databases that cover a wide range of project components and variables.
  • Ability to perform micro-level analysis of individual project components and macro-level analysis of entire projects or portfolios.
  • Proven competency in project scheduling techniques, including resource allocation, critical path analysis, and resource leveling.
  • Possesses strong communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical information to a wide range of stakeholders, from clients to executives.
  • Proven competency in comprehensive risk analysis, including probabilistic and Monte Carlo simulations, and the ability to develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex architectural plans, engineering designs, and specifications.
  • Exceptional skills in managing project budgets, optimizing cost control measures, and ensuring projects remain financially viable.
  • Deep understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and strategic alignment with organizational goals.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding client needs, and contributing to business development efforts.
  • Previous recognition as an industry expert with a track record of thought leadership, including publications, presentations, and participation in industry associations.

Requirements

  • Project estimating experience at a nuclear power station
  • Ability to obtain US NRC unescorted access to the site
