Exciting opportunity for an experienced Cath Lab or CVOR Nurse to assist in the development and growth of a start-up Cardiac ASC with an established prominent cardiovascular group.”

This position supervises daily clinical operations of the Surgery Center and manages the clinical staff accordance with established Federal, State and accreditation regulations and guidelines, as well as established Surgery Center policies and procedures. Oversees patient care activities in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative space.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Participates in direct patient care activities adhering to the requirements of the ASC RN job description for preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care. Serves as a role model for staff.

2. Supervises the daily clinic operations of the ASC as directed by the ASC Facility Manager to include patient registration, and patient care in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative areas ensuring standard operating procedures are followed.

3. Actively participates in designing and implementing standard operating procedures for the ASC to ensure quality and regulatory requirements are met.

4. Manages ASC Staff department orientation, training, directing and delegating tasks and processes, maintenance of required licenses and certifications, managing performance, coaching, constructive conflict resolution, staff competencies, accountability for the Standards of Behavior, and provides staff recognition.

5. Responsible for taking appropriate safety and infection control precautions in all areas of the ASC including workflow processes, medical equipment maintenance and utilization, and hazardous waste handling and disposal. Maintains emergency response equipment and supplies and plans for medical emergency management.

6. Achieves patient, employee and physician satisfaction initiatives. Provides timely response to patient complaints. Resolves critical issues and identifies process improvement opportunities. Analyzes opportunities to identify causes and find solutions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position directly supervises all ASC staff located at one ambulatory surgery center site as directed by the ASC Facility Manager.

Type of Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages and directs all assigned staff. Assigned areas may include clinical, administrative, or clinical/diagnostic service lines.
SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY
The scope requires the incumbent to be knowledgeable in all areas of the organization and have a solid understanding of cardiac procedures. This position works collaboratively with the senior leaders, physicians, department managers, IT and the billing department. This position also has responsibility for management of clinical staff and programs.
TRAVEL
Local travel to other locations may be required during the business day.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS
Direct patient care/surgery center environment:

· Able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.

· Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach and stretch frequently.

· Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs.

· Needs adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision

· Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and ability to grasp and handle objects.

· Able to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring in and out of chairs or wheelchairs.

· May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

· Needs to be able to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on the telephone.

· Requires use of computer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current Florida RN license.

Minimum five (5) years of ambulatory surgery center and/or cardiac cath lab experience as a registered nurse required.

Current ACLS and BLS certification required.

Working knowledge of nursing practice in the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative spaces in an ambulatory surgery center, cardiac cath lab, and/or operating room setting required.

Excellent communication skills; oral, written and presentation.

Demonstrates accountability, skill and knowledge to practice within scope of position responsibilities. Demonstrates an above average ability to organize, prioritize, analyze, anticipate, interpret, evaluate and problem solve to provide a safe, effective, functional environment.

Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, and other position specific software. Energetic leader with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.

Typing 40 wpm.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Master of Science highly desirable. ASC Management experience preferred.
