Job Description: Registered Dietitian
Compensation and Schedule
Pay: $83,200 - $93,600/YR
Flexible Monday - Friday Schedule
Location: Owensboro, Kentucky
JOB SUMMARY Provide nutrition care and education to participants. Develop and implement nutritional care plans, assess nutritional needs, recommend nutritional prescriptions, and communicate nutritional data to the primary care staff and Interdisciplinary Team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assessment: Collect patient data, identify nutritional problems, and assess satisfaction with nutrition services.
Planning Care: Develop and update care plans, involve patient/family, and communicate changes to team members.
Implementing/Managing Care: Ensure meals meet standards, educate stakeholders, work with physicians, document interventions, and supervise meal service.
Evaluation: Monitor nutritional intake and weight changes, and review diet orders.
Leadership: Participate in Quality Improvement processes and report food service issues.
Interdisciplinary Team: Actively engage in team meetings and care planning.
Other: Perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from an accredited institution.
Minimum 1 year experience as a Dietitian, preferably with a geriatric population.
Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) status preferred, or must be eligible within 24 months.
Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and minimum state-required auto insurance.
Medically cleared for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations.
Pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Teamwork and communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to teach and provide nutritional guidance to participants and families.
Meet competency standards for the position.
Medically cleared and immunized before direct participant contact.
Pass a background check verifying eligibility for Medicare and Medicaid participation.
