Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The Medical Biller will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining patient records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and medical office procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify medical documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Assign appropriate codes (e.g., ICD-10, DRG) to diagnoses and procedures
- Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials
- Answer patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance coverage
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies
- Stay updated on industry changes and regulations related to medical billing
Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures
- Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding guidelines
- Experience with medical billing software (e.g., EHR, practice management systems)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
