Compensation:

Hourly Pay Range: $22.72 – $29.73/hour

TEMPORARY additional differential of $4.00/hr for all hours worked.

Position is located at Osawatomie State Hospital. A negative drug screen is required as a condition of employment.

All employees are expected to work in a harmonious and cooperative fashion with other staff to provide efficient and effective customer service: to use free time as available to assist other staff in the completion of work assignments and perform other tasks as needed; to contribute to a positive work environment through a positive, helpful, courteous demeanor towards staff, customers and the general public; and to adhere to appropriate standards of conduct regarding the use of leave, reports to work on time and in the designated fashion.

This Social Worker Specialist - Benefits Position position is an integral and critical part of the treatment and development of patient’s discharge plan. Discharge planning begins at day one of hospitalization with the patient’s goal being priority. The Social Worker Specialist (Float Position) is to assist the unit social work specialist in completing and establishing benefits for discharge planning. This position may also help to complete assessments and providing coverage in the social work specialist’s absence to ensure discharge planning continues. Primarily this position will focus on building a robust benefits process to ensure the patient has the best outcome at discharge.

The essential functions of this position may require physical strength to frequently push, pull, twist, bend, squat, walk, stand for extended periods of time, lift and/or restrain residents with or without assistance and respond to aggressive resident behavior with specific, trained techniques. Must be able to observe and respond to residents in distress.

Osawatomie State Hospital Adair Acute Care is funded in part by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and is subject to requirements bestowed by Federal and State levels of government conditions of participation.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors

Licensing & Certification: Must possess a license or temporary license to practice Social Work in the State of Kansas.

Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a license or temporary license to practice Social Work in the State of Kansas.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working with individuals who have psychiatric diagnosis.

Positions in this class require that at the time of appointment the selected candidate must take and pass a drug screening test approved by the Division of Personnel Services. Persons hired must also pass a law enforcement security clearance in compliance with policies of the Department of Aging and Disability Services.
