EHC is Hiring a Design Engineer Near Orange, TX

EHC is currently looking for a Design Engineer for a client located in Orange, TX. 
  • Monday – Friday (7a-5p)
  • Some Saturdays may be required, depending on business needs
  • Non-exempt position; therefore, will be eligible for overtime
  • Range is $30-40/hour, DOE
Position Purpose/Summary
The Design Engineer is committed in supporting our client to continually be the leader in extrusion dies, feedblocks, quality and technology by executing design solutions and detailing of their products.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively within a team of technical professionals in supporting day-to-day operations and forward-thinking goals by applying CAD-based design knowledge and skills to a range of engineering projects.
  • Create and modify detailed drawings, sketches, and layouts using SolidWorks software.
  • Design or redesign complex layouts and drawings from general written or verbal communication to meet customers’ specifications.
  • Review drawings for correctness and conformance to industry standards and company design philosophy.
  • Work with engineers on model accuracy, designs, drafting standards and project documentation.
  • Work within a project lifecycle to release new, and revise, product designs and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Design engineers and drafters work with application engineers, sales engineers and manufacturing to design solutions based on client criteria.
  • Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Solid understanding of engineering principles and ability to read and comprehend mechanical drawings.
  • Pays attention to details, maintains a set schedule and is dependable.
  • Ability to interpret, convey and express oneself in the exchange of ideas in a respectful and professional manner effectively and accurately.
  • Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.
  • Ability to work as a team member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal.
  • Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions based on facts and data.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime, as needed, to best serve our business operations.
Qualifications
At a minimum, the Design Engineer must have an associate degree in engineering/design, or related field of study along with 2-4 years of mechanical design experience preferred and proven knowledge of SolidWorks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel). A bachelor's degree in engineering/design, or related field of study, along with 2 years of mechanical design experience is preferred.
