Histotechnologist (Lab Supervisor) Job Description

Location: Orange City Clinic, Orange City, FL, 32763

Job Summary:

The Histotechnologist (Lab Supervisor) will be responsible for supervising the histology laboratory and ensuring that all laboratory procedures are performed accurately and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing laboratory staff, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with all laboratory regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise laboratory staff and ensure that all laboratory procedures are performed accurately and efficiently
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure that all equipment is in good working order
• Ensure compliance with all laboratory regulations and standards
• Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures
• Train laboratory staff on laboratory procedures and protocols
• Perform histology procedures as needed
• Ensure that all laboratory records are accurate and up-to-date
• Participate in laboratory quality control and quality assurance programs
• Assist with laboratory budgeting and purchasing
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Histotechnology or related field
• Certification as a Histotechnologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a histology laboratory
• Experience in laboratory supervision
• Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations and standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Candidate will be required to take an onsite skills test as part of the hiring process
