Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our SRx Clinics infusion team as a Medical Office Assistant. As a crucial member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support and assisting in the efficient operations.
Patient ManagementYour day-to-day responsibilities
  • Greeting and welcoming patients, providing a professional and friendly atmosphere.
  • Assist patients in completing necessary forms and obtaining required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and personal information.
  • Schedule patient infusion appointments
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists, ensuring timely communication and documentation.
Administrative Support
  • Answer phone calls, screen and direct inquiries, and take accurate messages as necessary.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, email, and faxes.
  • Maintain an organized filing system for medical records, requisitions, and other relevant documentation.
  • Handle and maintain inventory of office supplies, equipment, and medications.
Communication And Coordination
  • Liaise with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.
  • Communicate with patients regarding appointment reminders and other relevant information.
  • Collaborate closely with our Edmonton SRx Pharmacy
Compliance And Privacy
  • Adhere to all applicable healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures, ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Maintain knowledge of clinic protocols and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records, following proper documentation guidelines.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized office environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Job Specifications & Qualifications
  • Patient Support and Advocacy:
  • Provide support and guidance to patients throughout their healthcare journey.
  • Advocate for patients' needs, ensuring access to resources, services, and therapies.
Drug Access Navigation
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, SRx Health and insurance companies for coverage.
  • Assist patients or coordinate services with forms, applications, and appeals related to drug access and reimbursement.
Care Coordination
  • Assist with individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Coordinate appointments, tests, and consultations for timely scheduling and follow-up.
Patient Education And Empowerment
  • Assist in patient education on medical conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies as per guidance from the healthcare providers.
  • Empower patients to actively participate in their healthcare decisions.
Documentation And Reporting
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document interactions, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Generate reports and communicate patient progress to the healthcare team as required.
Corporate Duties
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discuss same only with appropriate SRx Health Solutions’ personnel.
  • Adhere to SRx Health Solutions and manufacturer Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure mandatory trainings are completed in a timely manner. Greeting and checking in patients during clinics

Coordinating patient care Booking and confirming appointments and procedures

Researches and provides the appropriate response or directs inquiries to appropriate parties

Managing incoming and outgoing documents including faxes.
