Working Commercial Superintendent

This position is located in the Tri-Cities area of Nebraska - Grand Island, Hastings, & Kearney Nebraska!

Work Hours: 7:00am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday (some weeknights and weekends may be needed)
Primary Job Function: Oversee the efficiency and mentoring of the commercial installers and crews on new construction, remodels, and tenant improvement projects. Doing estimations on commercial jobs. You will be responsible for keeping track of employee's time, training, safety on the jobs, & supervision. The job will also require meetings with the general contractor, architect, & engineer. The position further requires jobs getting completed on schedule, supplies/equipment ordering, and project paperwork completed. May be required to work alongside the team on the jobsite.
Reports to: General Manager

Pay: $70-$75 plus bonuses for meeting project deadlines and budgeting goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Review incoming jobs turned over from the sales department.
• Have a strong understanding of the Commercial Construction process.
• Layout and create material lists for upcoming jobs that are scheduled.
• Monitor job tracking to ensure compliance with job budgets.
• Track and report on the daily progress specific to each job
• Work closely with the General Manager to oversee all crews and installs.
• Identify and document change orders.
• Perform quality control checks on a regular basis.
• Understand submittal data and construction documents including O&Ms, blueprints, submittals, and specifications.
• Work with commercial coordinator, warehouse manager and supply houses to ensure proper materials are being pulled correctly for jobs.
• Set an example for field installers.
• Perform disciplinary and corrective measures for field staff.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Attend any pre-construction, site & safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 8 years of HVAC commercial construction experience
• 3 years of a supervisory position
• Valid Driver's license and insurable driving record
• Can successfully pass a background check and drug test.
• Fully understand how to read and interpret construction blueprints, specs, and submittals
• Must meet physical requirements which include bending, heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
• Ability to follow proper safety protocols.
• Ability to work overtime/weekends when needed.
