Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal departments to identify and source equipment, materials, and products.
- Analyze market trends and predict future material availability.
- Prepare and present market reports and merchandise cost analyses.
- Manage the purchasing process, including preparing and processing purchase orders and requisitions.
- Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures.
- Evaluate and approve bids for awarding contracts.
- Negotiate favorable terms with vendors and resolve any grievances.
- Manage purchasing and recordkeeping systems.
- Represent the company in negotiations with suppliers.
- Oversee the removal or disposal of surplus materials.
- Administer the departmental budget.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
- Proven negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Understanding of business and management principles.
- Knowledge of the materials and supplies used in our industry (a plus).
