Responsibilities of an Infection Prevention Nurse:

• Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular infection control audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Educate and train staff on infection prevention practices, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and outbreak management.
• Investigate and manage infection outbreaks, coordinating with healthcare providers and public health officials as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of infection rates, incidents, and corrective actions taken.
• Stay current with industry standards, guidelines, and best practices related to infection control and prevention.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement in infection prevention.

Qualifications of an Infection Prevention Nurse:

• RN/LPN licensed in NJ
• LTC/SNF experience preferred
