The Factory Assistant Controller will play a pivotal role in analyzing and managing costs related to our construction product manufacturing processes located in Olathe, KS and Columbia, SC. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our continued growth and success by ensuring cost-effective production methods while maintaining the highest quality standards. This position will work closely with both managements teams at the factories to ensure world class performance. This position will have a heavier amount of travel initially, and then will move to about 10-12 times per year. The candidate must reside in Columbia, SC or Olathe, KS. RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting Collaborate with cross-functional teams both locally and globally to develop and manage production annual budgets and monthly forecast. Conduct in-depth analysis of production costs, identifying areas of improvement and cost-saving opportunities. Monitor cost trends, assess deviations from budget, and recommend corrective actions. Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize excess inventory and increase inventory turns. Prepare regular cost reports and presentations for management and stakeholders, providing transparency on cost-related matters. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports in compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Manufacturing Support Responsible for monthly Factory P&L reports Working closely with the management teams in both locations on improving our efficiencies. Responsible for answering inquiries related to system issues Utilize advanced data analysis tools and software to analyze cost data and provide actionable insights to senior management. Management of Employees Oversee daily workflow Provide guidance to employees when unique circumstances arise. Handle issues directly with internal customers when required. Support ongoing training and development of department members Conduct performance appraisals and provide regular performance feedback and development opportunities to employees Administrative Run various ad hoc reports as requested Monthly journal entries Review Contribute to the development and implementation of internal control procedures to safeguard company assets. Conduct periodic reviews to assess the effectiveness of internal controls. Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits. Prepare documentation and respond to audit inquiries to ensure compliance. CRITICAL FUNCTIONAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Strong knowledge of ERP system, ERP Reporting, Excel, and Microsoft 365 Proficient in GAAP EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus. Proven experience in cost management, budgeting, or related financial roles, preferably in a manufacturing or construction industry.
