District Description Harding Independence Charter District (HICD) is a free, public charter district in north Oklahoma City. HICD schools have five core elements that define their programs and operations. We are college prep institutions, meaning that our graduates are prepared for the rigors and responsibilities of post-secondary life. We provide students with a rigorous teaching and learning environment, as well as the comprehensive support that will help them be successful while they are with us. Position Description Harding Charter Preparatory High School is currently accepting applications for school counselors for the 2024-2025 school year. In our schools, counselors align their practice to the ASCA (the American School Counselors Association) School Counselor Professional Standards and Competencies. Our school counselors believe that every student can learn, and every student can succeed; every student should have access to and opportunity for a high-quality education; every student should graduate from HCP prepared for rigorous high school opportunities; every student should have access to a school counseling program; that effective school counseling is a collaborative process involving school counselors, students, families, teachers, staff and education stakeholders; that school counselors are leaders in the school, district, state, and nation; and that school counseling programs promote and enhance student academic, career, and social/emotional outcomes. HICD counselors have a strong professional foundation, provide direct and indirect services to students, and plan and assess the school’s comprehensive counseling program.
