Summary The Engineering Intern position provides an opportunity for students to get hands on experience working with District Energy. This opportunity will allow an Intern to learn about end-to-end solutions combining heating and cooling systems, chilled water and steam production, compressed air, vacuum, and power networks. This position is available to work part-time during the summer of 2024 with an option to continue during the 2024-2025 school year. This is an hourly position reporting to the General Manager in Oklahoma City, OK. Responsibilities Ability and willingness to learn plant and distribution systems, operations, and maintenance activitiesDevelop “As Built” Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s) in ACADProvide engineering support as needed for plant & distribution performance optimizationAssist in implementation of new programs; lead projects as assignedEvaluate site for decarbonization and energy efficiency opportunitiesWeekly update meetings with plant staff Qualifications and Experience Must be safety conscious, able to follow direction, and have a curious attitudeMotivated and dynamic person with ability to work independently and part of a teamTechnically orientedSelf-starter, resourceful and proactiveWorking knowledge of Microsoft suite of products, AutoCAD, and desire to learn and leverage innovative technology platformsRequires time management, organization and prioritization capability and excellent communication and organizational skills Physical Requirements Must submit to company required pre-employment drug screen and physical exam.The job can be physically demanding involving movement of heavy equipment and carrying materials up and down stairs, climbing in and out of confined spaces including manholes. Candidates should be able to lift and maneuver a 50-lb load.
